‘Superman’ TV series Actress, Noel Neill, dies at 95

Noel Neill was an American actress of film and television. She is best known for her portrayal of Lois Lane in the film serials Superman (1948) and Atom Man vs. Superman (1950), as well as the 1950s television series Adventures of Superman.

Neill died at age 95 on Sunday at her home in Tucson, Arizona, after a long illness, according to reports.

Neill was born on November 25, 1920, in Minneapolis, where her father was a journalist at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Shortly after high school she traveled to California and found a job as a singer at a restaurant at the Del Mar racetrack. Her connections at the track led to a contract with the Paramount movie studio

Over the decades, she appeared in various productions of the Superman franchise, often playing the parent or other relative of one of the main characters, including the 1978 Superman feature film, the 1980s TV series Superboy, the 1990s primetime drama Lois & Clark:
